Sinful Colors and L’Oreal

24 Jul

Yesterday I updated my manicure and pedicure. Yay! It wasn’t too hard for me to pick a pedicure color since I am very into bright pinks and oranges in the summer. More on that in a minute.

Here is my current manicure, Sinful Colors Big Daddy:

This applied like a dream in one coat, but I really wanted to do two coats. This is such a bright magenta pink – I’d almost call it a classic pink color. There is a bit of shrinkage (very slight) due to Seche Vite. I see it on my pinky, but it doesn’t bother me. I have to say, I am very impressed with Sinful Colors. I have a lot of their NPs that can be considered one coaters. This will definitely be one of my top and favorite colors. Have you noticed that there are a lot of racy Sinful Colors names? Ex: Happy Ending, Big Daddy, Under 18 and Gogo Girl. Or maybe I just have a pervy mind!

I never take pictures of my pedicure because I think my feet are funky. Well more like my big toe. I didn’t feel like taking a picture of a nail polish bottle, so here is L’Oreal Pink Shells on my toes:

Notice how I cut out my big toe! And yes, I am wearing furry leopard printed slippers in the summer! Anyway, L’Oreal Pink Shells is to die for! It is certainly pretty on my hands, but I love it on my feet too. You get even coverage in 2 coats, but I prefer to do 3 so the color just seems brighter. This is also going on my favorites list.

Just pictures this time!

Manicure #19 – China Glaze Sexy in the City. Going to trade this one. I loved it in the bottle, but hated it on me.

Manicure #20 – L’Oreal Yellow Seahorse. Yellow isn’t me and even though you can see VNL, I am keeping it. It’s a HTF polish!

Manicure #21 – L’Oreal Coral Starfish. Love this color. I don’t have pictures, but Pink Shells is to die for too. I haven’t used the blue one yet. L’Oreal did a great job on this collection!

Manicure #22 – Sally  Hansen Complete Manicure in Barracuda. I love this color, but please forgive the nasty cuticles and messed up nails. I will definitely be wearing this again, but allowing more dry time in between coats.

Manicure #23 – Color Club Revealed. I didn’t think I was going to like this, but I do. It looks so much better in other lights. Lots of shimmer! I think I like this better than Essie’s Tard Deco.

Pedicure #9 – Color Club Ultra Astral and Starry Temptress topcoat. I love this collection so much, but it is such a pain to take off. I still love you glitter!

Yes, I realized I skipped a manicure. I wanted to take pictures of manicure #16 but I was so busy with my bf’s surprise party. My nails chipped like crazy before I was able to take a picture.

Here is the manicure after that. You’ll see that my cuticles are unfortunately still stained red! This is Barielle Aura Angora:

Okay well I love the formula of Bariell but I hate this color with a passion. It looks like baby diarrhea! I have never hated a color so much in my life. This is going away in an exchange. I love the formula but I just hate this color. What was I thinking? Good thing it was only $1.99! The formula on this was like butter!

Now my current manicure is to die for. This color is getting added to my favorites. China Glaze Midnight Mission:

I love this color! This has lasted me a while. It just started chipping today but it is so small that I can just fix it up. I won’t be painting my nails again until Saturday. Anyway, the application on this was awesome. Full coverage in one, but since I am a serial 2 coater, I had to do the two coats! This is a defiinite repeat and a fave!

My pedicure, OPI Parlez Vous OPI?:

I’m glad I picked this as a pedicure color because I am not so sure that I would like it on my hands! I really do like the OPI pro-wide bruhes. The application on this was very smooth. Speaking of pedicure colors, I am actually going to label/designate certain nail polishes as pedicure only!

In other news, I took the plunge and ordered all the Color Club Starry Temptress neons! I am stalking the Fed Ex page as we speak. I also have 2 other polishes coming and…. I really want the Muppets Collection for OPI Holiday 2011!

Okay, so technically these count as one manicure. I only put a top coat of/finish on top of the original, but I still think they are 2 separate looks!

First:

Zoya Mira:

Wow, wow, wow! Another satisfying Zoya color! (Color is more like the picture with flash) Application on this was very easy and it required 2 coats. There was no streakyness. Note to self: Zoya Cremes are out of this world!

After day 2, I decided it was time to update this manicure, since I was seeing a bit of tipwear. I decided to use OPI Black Shatter:

So I don’t know about this. I love Black Shatter, but I don’t like this combination. It is too gothic for me! I think I’d prefer this with lighter colors underneath. I will attempt this another day. Black Shatter was easy to apply and only required one coat. I applied a top coat to make it glossy because it does dry matte.

Now on my toes I am wearing my most favorite color ever, Essie Jazz:

I don’t know if you can tell, but I am at half a bottle. I think I only have one other polish at this level! I love this color so much! I actually picked it up because of the name  – it reminded me of my Jazz dance days. No idea why it is called Jazz, but I love it! (I named my blog kinda sorta after this color). It is a very nice grey/pink/purple/nude. I have to admit that my polish is kind of smelly, like chemical smelly, but I still love it. You get even coverage after 2 coats.

In other news – I participated in the Zoya exchange. I got 6 colors and they are all backordered. The waiting game begins again! Zoya always does this to me!

This entry is not listed as Current Manicure and Pedicure since I have since changed my polish once again!

Some time ago I acquired Wet N Wild’s Fast Dry Gray’s Anatomy, a fabulous duochrome. For a while this was a hard to find color so I did spend a bit more to get it. :/ It is supposedly a dupe for Deborah Lippman’s Wicked Game and OPI’s Not Like the Movies (Katy Perry Collection). I’m embarrased to say that this has been sitting in my stash for a couple of months. You’d think that since I was so desperate to get it, that I’d immediately use it. Well Thursday night came along and I wanted to try it out. I knew it was kind of sheer but I wanted to see how it would look with other colors underneath it, so I busted out the nail wheels:

Without flash, from L to R: GA over white, GA alone, GA over black

With flash L to R: GA over white, GA alone, GA over black

Both wheels are with 2 coats. For the GA and black it’s one coat GA, one coat black.

OMG. I just want to say that I am in LOVE with my current manicure. I had been searching for this Color Club for a while and found it at Harmon’s. It was in the right place, however there were two other colors jammed in front of it. I think this is the type of color that I need a back up of. This is Color Club Revvvolution:

::sigh::

Application on this was a dream! It went on easy with one coat, but since I love 2 coats, it was perfection! I used OPI Designer Series topcoat and it left it extremely shiny!

Next up is my pedicure, but of course I never show my feet, so here are the colors I used:

Wet N Wild Buffy the Violet Slayer and Wet N Wild Party of 5 Glitter. I feel like my feet look like disco balls! I think this purple is more of a blurble and unfortunately when it photographs, it looks a lot like another Wet N Wild, Saved by the Blue. Application on this was easy! Definitely get coverage in one coat although you do get some brushstrokes. You definitely need the 2nd coat to even things out. The glitter was easy to apply, however I don’t have gobs of glitter. The brush only picks up a little bit. These Wet N Wilds live up to their name in that they truly are fast dry polishes. A+ for affordability and for the color selection.

Tomorrow I will post my embarrassing haul of nail polish. I need to be banned!

>I painted my nails this past Saturday with Essie Pretty Edgy:

Application was just okay on this. The first coat was extremely runny and thin. Second coat was much better and evened out the color. This reminds me of green grass. Very springy! I painted my nails kind of fast so I had a few chipping issues. I decided to update my manicure with some glitter yesterday.

Here is Sinful Colors Green Ocean without flash:

This was a bit goopy, but that can be expected from a nail polish that has glitter and some foil pieces. This reflects mostly blue.

Finally, my pedicure color. I refuse to take pictures of my toes. They get made fun of a lot by friends and family! Let’s just say they look like lollipops or lightbulbs.

I am wearing Sinful Colors Timbleberry, painted on Saturday also:

Application was smooth in one coat, but I am a 2 coater. This color is a pinky coral. Perfect for summer!
I think the only time my hand and toes every match are during the summer!
I’ll be changing my polish tonight. Look out for the updates soon.
