OPI Come to Poppy and Essie Chubby Cheeks

16 Aug

It has been a while since I have posted here. I have gotten lazy or more like my morning workouts exhaust me! Today I have 2 of my favorite colors this summer. I have worn them a few times each.

OPI Come to Poppy:

I originally bought this because I loved the name of the color but this gets a big thumbs up! I have it on my toes right now and my bf complimented me on it this weekend. Score! (This is 2 coats)

Essie Chubby Cheeks:

How cute is that name? And the color is a beautiful dusty coral. Unfortunately I have major wear and you can see the beginning of it in these pictures. This is 2 coats.

I have been using Seche Base and Seche Vite on my recent manicures and I love how it leaves my nails. I am too lazy to sit around and wait for my nails to dry.

New manicure tomorrow night! (Will probably post this on Friday)

Essie Mint Candy Apple

21 Jul

I’ve finally gotten around to wearing this! Here is Essie’s Mint Candy Apple:

I got this nail polish in my first nail polish exchange last year. This dried very quickly and was even in 2 coats. I’ll need to do a comparison of this and Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Barracuda. I think they may be similar, but SH might be lighter.

Also, I am using Seche Vite and Seche Base. CVS had a packaged deal where you got both items for the price of one. I usually use Seche Vite at the nail salon, but I have never personally used it. I am pretty impressed and love how shiny it is. So I was about to say how wonderful my nails look with no chips, but guess what? There is a chip on my left middle finger. UGH! It’s not that big, but enough to bother me. Good thing I’m doing a new manicure on Saturday.

But to end this on a positive note – Essie Mint Candy Apple = love!

More manicures

19 Jul

I have decided to stop numbering these manicures because I always lose track. Here are some fairly recent ones:

Sinful ColorsSeaweed:

This went on very smooth in two coats, and guess what? It’s a dupe for OPI Stranger Tides!

OPICome to Poppy:

This is from OPI’s Nice Stems collection. I wanted this mostly for the name, but I absolutely love this color. It does look a bit frosty with the flash, but it is a very nice summer color. This is two coats.

EssieMeat Balls

This is a “black label” Essie that I have been wanting for a while. It was hard to find because it is certainly mislabeled a lot! Some websites list it as Meet Balls while others have it as Meat Balls. Well I found it on eBay and the official name is Meat Balls! This is a beautiful mauve colored nail polish with some gold flecks in it. This I think, is 3 coats.

Wet N WildMagic Trident

This is from WnW’s Mermaid’s Cove collection. Magic Trident is a bright, frosty orange but it is beautiful! I think it is such a fun color and definitely a good pedicure color as well. This is two coats.

And finally,

EssieChubby Cheeks

I have this on my toes and hands right now, but I don’t have an actual manicure picture. I found Chubby Cheeks at Ulta. Looking at Essie.com, it doesn’t seem like it is a part of their permanent line. (It says it is unavailable) You can certianly find it for cheap at Amazon.com, but I happened to be at Ulta and I needed a few more dollars to make a coupon work. This color is a dusty coral and according to Essie.com it is a creamy bright red-orange sunet. Okay, I am not sure if it looks like that on my nails though. I want to do a comparison one day of Color Club‘s Love Links and this color. A friend of mine bought China Glaze‘s Life Preserver and she says it is very similar to this color. (She has this Essie too). I don’t have that color, but I will see if I can borrow it.

Now I don’t know what color to paint my nails tomorrow! I have been very annoyed with my nails lately. Chipping starts the same day now! My nails are just splitting once again and I don’t think Nail Envy is helping anymore!

Photo dump/Haulin’ again

15 Jun

I think is going to be more of a photo dump. Lately I have been feeling too tired to post! Add the fact that I just got back from vacation last week too! Also, I have been working out at 6 am! It is helping me though. Anyway, here are some pictures with some short explanations.

So I can’t believe that I never posted some of these pictures! Anyway, here is my last haul from Transdesign and some polishes from random places like Walgreen’s and Harmon’s:

The entire Starry Temptress collection from Color Club!

The colors are: Ultra Astral, Space Case,  You Got Soul-Ar, Glitter Envy, Otherworldly, Wink, Wink, Twinkle and the Starry Temptress topcoat! I have been waiting for these forever! So far I have used Ultra Astral and You Got Soul-Ar. Sorry, no pictures and they will not be counted in the count of manicures and pedicures!

Sally Hansen Crackles in Fractured Foil and Vintage Violet, OPI Dating A Royal, OPI Lincoln Park After Midnight, China Glaze Senorita Bonita and Essie Coat Azure. I tried the silver crackle very quickly over a light blue (Color Club Take Me to Your Chateau). It cracks well, but it was hard to see with that color combination. I still haven’t tried the other colors.

NYC Color – Chinatown, Flat Iron Green and West Village, NYC Color Starry Silver Glitter, Color Club Age of Aquarius and L’Oreal Pink Shells. I used Pink Shells twice on vacation. The PERFECT vacation at the beach color! Again, no pictures.

Sephora by OPI, 212. I haven’t tried it yet, but I can already tell it is one of my favorites!

All these were a gift! The Wet N Wild Mermaid’s Cove collection:

Atlantis, Waves of Enchantment, Magic Trident, Sea of Dreams. I have tried Waves of Enchantment (again, no pics). I love it!!

Sea Witch, Diving for Pearls, Stream of Wonder and Ocean Grotto.

Next post – a backlog of manicures/pedicures.

Overload – Manicures #13, 14, 15 and Pedicures #6 and 7

7 May

Backlog! Here are my last few manicures and pedicures:

Revlon Pretty in Papaya:

Okay so I have no idea what is going on with my pictures right now, but this nail polish is wonderful. OMG it smells delicious! Application on this was great except I didn’t wait that long for my topcoat, so there were some drag marks.

Pedicure – Sinful Colors Tappin’ Nails

This is a very nice foil orange. I swear, Sinful Colors seem to be one coaters because I had even coverage in one coat!

Manicure – Essie Splash of Grenadine

I honestly don’t understand why this is called Splash of Grenadine. To me, Grenadine is more red. This is a beautiful color, but it required 3 coats! I don’t remember it taking this much last year. A beautiful color, but it may be a pedicure color. I had some lifting issues after 3 coats.

Pedicure – Essie Lapis of Luxury

This is a pedicure color, because like Splash of Grenadine, this color takes 3 coats. I have received a lot of compliments on my “periwinkle” toes.

Manicure – Color Club Love Links

I love, love, love this color. This is another beautiful coral. Application on this was even after 1 coat, but since I love my 2 coats, I had to do it.

Okay so somehow I will figure out how to fix these pictures. I have no idea why there is so much white space.

After Monday I should have a massive haul picture. My Zoyas will probably be in by then! Then I will have to do a collection post.

Manicures #10 and #11, Pedicure #5

28 Apr

Okay, so technically these count as one manicure. I only put a top coat of/finish on top of the original, but I still think they are 2 separate looks!

First:

Zoya Mira:

Wow, wow, wow! Another satisfying Zoya color! (Color is more like the picture with flash) Application on this was very easy and it required 2 coats. There was no streakyness. Note to self: Zoya Cremes are out of this world!

After day 2, I decided it was time to update this manicure, since I was seeing a bit of tipwear. I decided to use OPI Black Shatter:

So I don’t know about this. I love Black Shatter, but I don’t like this combination. It is too gothic for me! I think I’d prefer this with lighter colors underneath. I will attempt this another day. Black Shatter was easy to apply and only required one coat. I applied a top coat to make it glossy because it does dry matte.

Now on my toes I am wearing my most favorite color ever, Essie Jazz:

I don’t know if you can tell, but I am at half a bottle. I think I only have one other polish at this level! I love this color so much! I actually picked it up because of the name  – it reminded me of my Jazz dance days. No idea why it is called Jazz, but I love it! (I named my blog kinda sorta after this color). It is a very nice grey/pink/purple/nude. I have to admit that my polish is kind of smelly, like chemical smelly, but I still love it. You get even coverage after 2 coats.

In other news – I participated in the Zoya exchange. I got 6 colors and they are all backordered. The waiting game begins again! Zoya always does this to me!

Current manicure (#6) and pedicure (#4)

18 Apr

This is my current manicure and pedicure. I will change the nail polish on my hands tomorrow night. I currently have Color Club Wild Orchid on:

Can I just say how amazing this color is? It’s like a purle grey or a grurple with some shmmer to it. This is from the Untamed Luxury collection. Application on this was very smooth and even, however it still required three coats, because it is a bit on the sheer side.

Next up, my pedicure, Essie Angora Cardi:

This is from Essie’s Cuddle with Color Fall 2009 collection. I actually have a 2nd bottle of this since I won the whole collection off of eBay. This color is a dark dusty rose. So beautiful! It looks a little different on my toes, but I do love it. The application is smooth and even in 2 coats.

I’ve noticed that I have been improving with my nail painting skills. I think one day soon I will post my tips and tricks.

Also, this week I am headed to Ulta for my quarterly trip (it’s out of the way for me), so I hope to have another haul even though I should be on a ban!
