Manicures #17 and 18 and Pedicure #8

19 May

Yes, I realized I skipped a manicure. I wanted to take pictures of manicure #16 but I was so busy with my bf’s surprise party. My nails chipped like crazy before I was able to take a picture.

Here is the manicure after that. You’ll see that my cuticles are unfortunately still stained red! This is Barielle Aura Angora:

Okay well I love the formula of Bariell but I hate this color with a passion. It looks like baby diarrhea! I have never hated a color so much in my life. This is going away in an exchange. I love the formula but I just hate this color. What was I thinking? Good thing it was only $1.99! The formula on this was like butter!

Now my current manicure is to die for. This color is getting added to my favorites. China Glaze Midnight Mission:

I love this color! This has lasted me a while. It just started chipping today but it is so small that I can just fix it up. I won’t be painting my nails again until Saturday. Anyway, the application on this was awesome. Full coverage in one, but since I am a serial 2 coater, I had to do the two coats! This is a defiinite repeat and a fave!

My pedicure, OPI Parlez Vous OPI?:

I’m glad I picked this as a pedicure color because I am not so sure that I would like it on my hands! I really do like the OPI pro-wide bruhes. The application on this was very smooth. Speaking of pedicure colors, I am actually going to label/designate certain nail polishes as pedicure only!

In other news, I took the plunge and ordered all the Color Club Starry Temptress neons! I am stalking the Fed Ex page as we speak. I also have 2 other polishes coming and…. I really want the Muppets Collection for OPI Holiday 2011!

Manicures #10 and #11, Pedicure #5

28 Apr

Okay, so technically these count as one manicure. I only put a top coat of/finish on top of the original, but I still think they are 2 separate looks!

First:

Zoya Mira:

Wow, wow, wow! Another satisfying Zoya color! (Color is more like the picture with flash) Application on this was very easy and it required 2 coats. There was no streakyness. Note to self: Zoya Cremes are out of this world!

After day 2, I decided it was time to update this manicure, since I was seeing a bit of tipwear. I decided to use OPI Black Shatter:

So I don’t know about this. I love Black Shatter, but I don’t like this combination. It is too gothic for me! I think I’d prefer this with lighter colors underneath. I will attempt this another day. Black Shatter was easy to apply and only required one coat. I applied a top coat to make it glossy because it does dry matte.

Now on my toes I am wearing my most favorite color ever, Essie Jazz:

I don’t know if you can tell, but I am at half a bottle. I think I only have one other polish at this level! I love this color so much! I actually picked it up because of the nameĀ  – it reminded me of my Jazz dance days. No idea why it is called Jazz, but I love it! (I named my blog kinda sorta after this color). It is a very nice grey/pink/purple/nude. I have to admit that my polish is kind of smelly, like chemical smelly, but I still love it. You get even coverage after 2 coats.

In other news – I participated in the Zoya exchange. I got 6 colors and they are all backordered. The waiting game begins again! Zoya always does this to me!

Current Manicure (#3) and Pedicure (#2)

OMG. I just want to say that I am in LOVE with my current manicure. I had been searching for this Color Club for a while and found it at Harmon’s. It was in the right place, however there were two other colors jammed in front of it. I think this is the type of color that I need a back up of. This is Color Club Revvvolution:

::sigh::

Application on this was a dream! It went on easy with one coat, but since I love 2 coats, it was perfection! I used OPI Designer Series topcoat and it left it extremely shiny!

Next up is my pedicure, but of course I never show my feet, so here are the colors I used:

Wet N Wild Buffy the Violet Slayer and Wet N Wild Party of 5 Glitter. I feel like my feet look like disco balls! I think this purple is more of a blurble and unfortunately when it photographs, it looks a lot like another Wet N Wild, Saved by the Blue. Application on this was easy! Definitely get coverage in one coat although you do get some brushstrokes. You definitely need the 2nd coat to even things out. The glitter was easy to apply, however I don’t have gobs of glitter. The brush only picks up a little bit. These Wet N Wilds live up to their name in that they truly are fast dry polishes. A+ for affordability and for the color selection.

Tomorrow I will post my embarrassing haul of nail polish. I need to be banned!

Current Manicure

7 Apr

I change my polish about 2 or 3 times a week. I do my manicures on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Here is my current manicure. Color Club Pucci-licious with Nfu oh #50 on my ring finger:

Application on this was okay. The first coat was certainly streaky but the next coat evened out the color. I think that a third coat may have been useful. As for the Nfu oh, it wasn’t goopy like Green Ocean, which is good. I liked how it dried pretty smoothly and it certainly picks up a blue tone. Maybe it will be different with other colors. Nfu oh #50 is a purple based flakie polish.
