Essie Mint Candy Apple

21 Jul

I’ve finally gotten around to wearing this! Here is Essie’s Mint Candy Apple:

I got this nail polish in my first nail polish exchange last year. This dried very quickly and was even in 2 coats. I’ll need to do a comparison of this and Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Barracuda. I think they may be similar, but SH might be lighter.

Also, I am using Seche Vite and Seche Base. CVS had a packaged deal where you got both items for the price of one. I usually use Seche Vite at the nail salon, but I have never personally used it. I am pretty impressed and love how shiny it is. So I was about to say how wonderful my nails look with no chips, but guess what? There is a chip on my left middle finger. UGH! It’s not that big, but enough to bother me. Good thing I’m doing a new manicure on Saturday.

But to end this on a positive note – Essie Mint Candy Apple = love!

Photo dump/Haulin’ again

15 Jun

I think is going to be more of a photo dump. Lately I have been feeling too tired to post! Add the fact that I just got back from vacation last week too! Also, I have been working out at 6 am! It is helping me though. Anyway, here are some pictures with some short explanations.

So I can’t believe that I never posted some of these pictures! Anyway, here is my last haul from Transdesign and some polishes from random places like Walgreen’s and Harmon’s:

The entire Starry Temptress collection from Color Club!

The colors are: Ultra Astral, Space Case,  You Got Soul-Ar, Glitter Envy, Otherworldly, Wink, Wink, Twinkle and the Starry Temptress topcoat! I have been waiting for these forever! So far I have used Ultra Astral and You Got Soul-Ar. Sorry, no pictures and they will not be counted in the count of manicures and pedicures!

Sally Hansen Crackles in Fractured Foil and Vintage Violet, OPI Dating A Royal, OPI Lincoln Park After Midnight, China Glaze Senorita Bonita and Essie Coat Azure. I tried the silver crackle very quickly over a light blue (Color Club Take Me to Your Chateau). It cracks well, but it was hard to see with that color combination. I still haven’t tried the other colors.

NYC Color – Chinatown, Flat Iron Green and West Village, NYC Color Starry Silver Glitter, Color Club Age of Aquarius and L’Oreal Pink Shells. I used Pink Shells twice on vacation. The PERFECT vacation at the beach color! Again, no pictures.

Sephora by OPI, 212. I haven’t tried it yet, but I can already tell it is one of my favorites!

All these were a gift! The Wet N Wild Mermaid’s Cove collection:

Atlantis, Waves of Enchantment, Magic Trident, Sea of Dreams. I have tried Waves of Enchantment (again, no pics). I love it!!

Sea Witch, Diving for Pearls, Stream of Wonder and Ocean Grotto.

Next post – a backlog of manicures/pedicures.

Haulin’ … again!

Sally Hansen Xtreme WearGray Area, Color ClubTake Me to Your Chateau, OrlyMonroe’s Red, OPILincoln Park After Midnight, L’OrealCoral Starfish

Sally Hansen Complete Salon ManicureGray by Gray, Fairy Teal, Navy Baby and Commander in Chic

Zoya (finally!) – Raven, Nina, Valerie, Pinta, Savita and Kelly

Okay so maybe one day I will wear all of these. LOL

Manicure (#5) and Pedicure (#3)

17 Apr

This entry is not listed as Current Manicure and Pedicure since I have since changed my polish once again!

Some time ago I acquired Wet N Wild’s Fast Dry Gray’s Anatomy, a fabulous duochrome. For a while this was a hard to find color so I did spend a bit more to get it. :/ It is supposedly a dupe for Deborah Lippman’s Wicked Game and OPI’s Not Like the Movies (Katy Perry Collection). I’m embarrased to say that this has been sitting in my stash for a couple of months. You’d think that since I was so desperate to get it, that I’d immediately use it. Well Thursday night came along and I wanted to try it out. I knew it was kind of sheer but I wanted to see how it would look with other colors underneath it, so I busted out the nail wheels:

Without flash, from L to R: GA over white, GA alone, GA over black

With flash L to R: GA over white, GA alone, GA over black

Both wheels are with 2 coats. For the GA and black it’s one coat GA, one coat black.

>Polish shopping

3 Apr

>I’m pretty excited because I have 8 new polishes coming to me hopefully this week. I won’t post brands or polish colors until I receive them. Anyway, I ordered a bunch from eBay from a reliable seller. Originally I was only going to do some online browsing but I found some incredible deals. One is a collection of polishes from a past season. I already have one of the colors, but I loved the others in the collection, so I have all 6 coming to me. Then I ordered two from another brand – one is considered a staple and the other is a hard to find. (*I think*) I love shopping online, but waiting to receive your packages is torture!!

Yesterday I went to Harmon’s Beauty Discount and bought a few things. I’ll post a picture of my haul tomorrow night. I really need to stop buying polish! But at least it’s a cheap addiction. I have been broken from my handbag addiction. I can’t say that about my shoe one. Oh, but my haul isn’t just polishes but some nail treatments too.

So that this is not a text only post, I will show you some polishes I received. I belong to an online forum/community and every few months we have secret exchanges. This past exchange was called a secret bunny exchange. I received:

From L to R: OPI Rumple’s Wiggin’, nfu oh #50, Color Club Pucci-licious, Essie Pretty Edgy, butter LONDON Artful Dodger and Sally Hansen polish strips in Frock Star.

Everyone on this forum is pretty generous and I am so excited to try nfu oh and butter LONDON since I have never tried either brand.

Coming soon – Nail of the day! (or week…)

>I love a good sale

31 Mar

>Pathmark by my job is closing, so they are having sales on everything. I’ve read and heard that you have to be really careful since they are not honoring the sales in their flyer. This probably means they are jacking up the prices, providing a small discount, and then letting you think that you are saving money.

This could be true, however the sales on cosmetics and beauty products are pretty good – 40-60% off. Most of the cosmetics are picked over, so I wasn’t able to purchase any eyeshadow or *gasp* nail polish! There was not one nail polish to be found. I did however, manage to score all this:

From L to R: Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, Sally Hansen Continuous Treatment Time Released Hardening Formula, Cutex Twist and Lock Pump Nail Polish Remover, Freeman Soothing Facial Scrub and finally, L’Oreal Telescopic Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black.

I love love love the cuticle remover so this will serve as my back up bottle. My total for all these products was a little bit more than $16. This is not bad, considering that the mascara is about $9 and change.

I’ll check again later next week to see if these prices drop even further, but I am doubtful anything worthwhile will be left!
