More manicures

19 Jul

I have decided to stop numbering these manicures because I always lose track. Here are some fairly recent ones:

Sinful ColorsSeaweed:

This went on very smooth in two coats, and guess what? It’s a dupe for OPI Stranger Tides!

OPICome to Poppy:

This is from OPI’s Nice Stems collection. I wanted this mostly for the name, but I absolutely love this color. It does look a bit frosty with the flash, but it is a very nice summer color. This is two coats.

EssieMeat Balls

This is a “black label” Essie that I have been wanting for a while. It was hard to find because it is certainly mislabeled a lot! Some websites list it as Meet Balls while others have it as Meat Balls. Well I found it on eBay and the official name is Meat Balls! This is a beautiful mauve colored nail polish with some gold flecks in it. This I think, is 3 coats.

Wet N WildMagic Trident

This is from WnW’s Mermaid’s Cove collection. Magic Trident is a bright, frosty orange but it is beautiful! I think it is such a fun color and definitely a good pedicure color as well. This is two coats.

And finally,

EssieChubby Cheeks

I have this on my toes and hands right now, but I don’t have an actual manicure picture. I found Chubby Cheeks at Ulta. Looking at Essie.com, it doesn’t seem like it is a part of their permanent line. (It says it is unavailable) You can certianly find it for cheap at Amazon.com, but I happened to be at Ulta and I needed a few more dollars to make a coupon work. This color is a dusty coral and according to Essie.com it is a creamy bright red-orange sunet. Okay, I am not sure if it looks like that on my nails though. I want to do a comparison one day of Color Club‘s Love Links and this color. A friend of mine bought China Glaze‘s Life Preserver and she says it is very similar to this color. (She has this Essie too). I don’t have that color, but I will see if I can borrow it.

Now I don’t know what color to paint my nails tomorrow! I have been very annoyed with my nails lately. Chipping starts the same day now! My nails are just splitting once again and I don’t think Nail Envy is helping anymore!

Photo dump/Haulin’ again

15 Jun

I think is going to be more of a photo dump. Lately I have been feeling too tired to post! Add the fact that I just got back from vacation last week too! Also, I have been working out at 6 am! It is helping me though. Anyway, here are some pictures with some short explanations.

So I can’t believe that I never posted some of these pictures! Anyway, here is my last haul from Transdesign and some polishes from random places like Walgreen’s and Harmon’s:

The entire Starry Temptress collection from Color Club!

The colors are: Ultra Astral, Space Case,  You Got Soul-Ar, Glitter Envy, Otherworldly, Wink, Wink, Twinkle and the Starry Temptress topcoat! I have been waiting for these forever! So far I have used Ultra Astral and You Got Soul-Ar. Sorry, no pictures and they will not be counted in the count of manicures and pedicures!

Sally Hansen Crackles in Fractured Foil and Vintage Violet, OPI Dating A Royal, OPI Lincoln Park After Midnight, China Glaze Senorita Bonita and Essie Coat Azure. I tried the silver crackle very quickly over a light blue (Color Club Take Me to Your Chateau). It cracks well, but it was hard to see with that color combination. I still haven’t tried the other colors.

NYC Color – Chinatown, Flat Iron Green and West Village, NYC Color Starry Silver Glitter, Color Club Age of Aquarius and L’Oreal Pink Shells. I used Pink Shells twice on vacation. The PERFECT vacation at the beach color! Again, no pictures.

Sephora by OPI, 212. I haven’t tried it yet, but I can already tell it is one of my favorites!

All these were a gift! The Wet N Wild Mermaid’s Cove collection:

Atlantis, Waves of Enchantment, Magic Trident, Sea of Dreams. I have tried Waves of Enchantment (again, no pics). I love it!!

Sea Witch, Diving for Pearls, Stream of Wonder and Ocean Grotto.

Next post – a backlog of manicures/pedicures.

Manicure (#5) and Pedicure (#3)

17 Apr

This entry is not listed as Current Manicure and Pedicure since I have since changed my polish once again!

Some time ago I acquired Wet N Wild’s Fast Dry Gray’s Anatomy, a fabulous duochrome. For a while this was a hard to find color so I did spend a bit more to get it. :/ It is supposedly a dupe for Deborah Lippman’s Wicked Game and OPI’s Not Like the Movies (Katy Perry Collection). I’m embarrased to say that this has been sitting in my stash for a couple of months. You’d think that since I was so desperate to get it, that I’d immediately use it. Well Thursday night came along and I wanted to try it out. I knew it was kind of sheer but I wanted to see how it would look with other colors underneath it, so I busted out the nail wheels:

Without flash, from L to R: GA over white, GA alone, GA over black

With flash L to R: GA over white, GA alone, GA over black

Both wheels are with 2 coats. For the GA and black it’s one coat GA, one coat black.

Current Manicure (#3) and Pedicure (#2)

11 Apr

OMG. I just want to say that I am in LOVE with my current manicure. I had been searching for this Color Club for a while and found it at Harmon’s. It was in the right place, however there were two other colors jammed in front of it. I think this is the type of color that I need a back up of. This is Color Club Revvvolution:

::sigh::

Application on this was a dream! It went on easy with one coat, but since I love 2 coats, it was perfection! I used OPI Designer Series topcoat and it left it extremely shiny!

Next up is my pedicure, but of course I never show my feet, so here are the colors I used:

Wet N Wild Buffy the Violet Slayer and Wet N Wild Party of 5 Glitter. I feel like my feet look like disco balls! I think this purple is more of a blurble and unfortunately when it photographs, it looks a lot like another Wet N Wild, Saved by the Blue. Application on this was easy! Definitely get coverage in one coat although you do get some brushstrokes. You definitely need the 2nd coat to even things out. The glitter was easy to apply, however I don’t have gobs of glitter. The brush only picks up a little bit. These Wet N Wilds live up to their name in that they truly are fast dry polishes. A+ for affordability and for the color selection.

Tomorrow I will post my embarrassing haul of nail polish. I need to be banned!
