OPI Come to Poppy and Essie Chubby Cheeks

16 Aug

It has been a while since I have posted here. I have gotten lazy or more like my morning workouts exhaust me! Today I have 2 of my favorite colors this summer. I have worn them a few times each.

OPI Come to Poppy:

I originally bought this because I loved the name of the color but this gets a big thumbs up! I have it on my toes right now and my bf complimented me on it this weekend. Score! (This is 2 coats)

Essie Chubby Cheeks:

How cute is that name? And the color is a beautiful dusty coral. Unfortunately I have major wear and you can see the beginning of it in these pictures. This is 2 coats.

I have been using Seche Base and Seche Vite on my recent manicures and I love how it leaves my nails. I am too lazy to sit around and wait for my nails to dry.

New manicure tomorrow night! (Will probably post this on Friday)

Spy pics – displays

28 Jul

This is kind of funny. Last Friday I went to Harmon’s Beauty Discount. For those of you that are not familiar with the store, it is owned by the same company that owns Bed Bath & Beyond. And, you can use BB&B coupons! They sell all type of beauty items and your staple drugstore items like vitamins and pain relievers. I love walking around the makeup section, especially the displays. Here is what I found: (and I apologize for some crappy pictures, but I did get nervous about taking pictures in a store!!)

Revlon display for Carbonite. I think they are trying to have  something similar to Chanel Graphite.

Next up is the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Limited Edition Collection.

And guess what? More crackle! This time they are from LA Splash. According to the display there is a special basecoat and topcoat.

Finally, I have two Sinful Colors displays. I am pretty sure that these are repromotes because I see some of the colors from the Adventure Island display.

First up is Hollywood Glam:

Finally, H2o:

Now interestingly enough, I didn’t purchase one polish! I was tempted by the Revlon display, but I decided that it probably wouldn’t look good on my skin and I really don’t need it. It’s been about 3 weeks since I bought a polish. Go me!! (Until Septemberish…)

OPI Mexico Collection

25 Jul

There aren’t many whole nail polish collections that I want. I wish I was more into nail polish back in 2006. OPI released their Mexico collection. I love Mexico! I have been there at least 6 times and it is my favorite vacation spot.

Here are some pictures of the collection:

(pictures from Angels Beauty Supply)

I have to research these and really scope out MUA and eBay for these colors. I know that Amazon has some below $8. The hardest color to find will be Los Cabos Coral. That color is very expensive on eBay! I will have to keep track of these colors and find the cheapest price. There are 12 colors in total – so if I buy it at full price we are talking about over $100 without shipping!

The colors are:

Will You Mari-achi Me?
Magnifico Mexico
A Dozen Rosas
OPI Por Favor
Los Cabos Coral
Strawberry Margarita
Pink-o de Gallo
My Chihuahua Bites!
Cozu-melted in the Sun
Tijuana Dance?
Puerta Vallarta Violeta
You Rock-apulco Red

I am on a ban right now, but I will treat myself to this in September. Why? Because I hope to be 10 pounds lighter by then. I have already lost 5 and I promised myself that I would treat myself to this when I lose all the weight I want to lose. Wish me luck!

Sinful Colors and L’Oreal

24 Jul

Yesterday I updated my manicure and pedicure. Yay! It wasn’t too hard for me to pick a pedicure color since I am very into bright pinks and oranges in the summer. More on that in a minute.

Here is my current manicure, Sinful Colors Big Daddy:

This applied like a dream in one coat, but I really wanted to do two coats. This is such a bright magenta pink – I’d almost call it a classic pink color. There is a bit of shrinkage (very slight) due to Seche Vite. I see it on my pinky, but it doesn’t bother me. I have to say, I am very impressed with Sinful Colors. I have a lot of their NPs that can be considered one coaters. This will definitely be one of my top and favorite colors. Have you noticed that there are a lot of racy Sinful Colors names? Ex: Happy Ending, Big Daddy, Under 18 and Gogo Girl. Or maybe I just have a pervy mind!

I never take pictures of my pedicure because I think my feet are funky. Well more like my big toe. I didn’t feel like taking a picture of a nail polish bottle, so here is L’Oreal Pink Shells on my toes:

Notice how I cut out my big toe! And yes, I am wearing furry leopard printed slippers in the summer! Anyway, L’Oreal Pink Shells is to die for! It is certainly pretty on my hands, but I love it on my feet too. You get even coverage in 2 coats, but I prefer to do 3 so the color just seems brighter. This is also going on my favorites list.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

21 Jul

I’ve finally gotten around to wearing this! Here is Essie’s Mint Candy Apple:

I got this nail polish in my first nail polish exchange last year. This dried very quickly and was even in 2 coats. I’ll need to do a comparison of this and Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Barracuda. I think they may be similar, but SH might be lighter.

Also, I am using Seche Vite and Seche Base. CVS had a packaged deal where you got both items for the price of one. I usually use Seche Vite at the nail salon, but I have never personally used it. I am pretty impressed and love how shiny it is. So I was about to say how wonderful my nails look with no chips, but guess what? There is a chip on my left middle finger. UGH! It’s not that big, but enough to bother me. Good thing I’m doing a new manicure on Saturday.

But to end this on a positive note – Essie Mint Candy Apple = love!
